There's Always Time to Learn about Geography
Who would have ever thought that me, out of all people, would end up enjoying reading geography articles online, after having hated Geography just as much as History and Math when I was younger. I agree everybody needs a little bit of world knowledge, or at the very least, know the basic Geography of their own country, because otherwise you may look like a fool when you are talking with somebody and your ignorance shines through.
That happened to me a couple of weeks ago while talking with some over 40 singles I met at the bar. nI'm in my late twenties, so I usually don't talk with older people or mix with them, but this group of over 40 singles were so nice and polite, I just kind of got sucked into their conversation.
They were talking about all these places in the Czech Republic I didn't even know existed and yes, I did feel a little bit out of place and, well, dumb. One of them gave me a cheat sheet of sorts, a site called Geographic Perspectives Magazine filled with info and facts, written so clearly that even a Geography hating girl like me understood! Now I can talk with my friends over 40 about Geography without feeling ignorant!
